This Windows 10 Mobile Overhaul Would Have Killed Android an…

Windows phone concepts make the rounds every once in a while, and this is happening mostly because hardcore fans sticking with Microsoft’s dying platform still expect a major overhaul of the operating system with every new major OS release.

With the Creators Update to launch on April 25 with a stunning new share icon, but with minor visual overhauls, all hopes are now on Windows 10 Redstone 3 landing in the fall to bring more visual tweaks.

In the meantime, however, skilled designers across the world continue creating more or less complex concepts imagining the future of Windows phones, even though we don’t even know for sure that Windows phones still have a future.

This is the case of the concept created by Amir Estefad from Mah Studio, with Windows 10 Mobile getting an overhaul that loyal fans can only dream about right now, especially given Microsoft’s strategy of remaining tight-lipped on everything mobile.

Microsoft needs to have a look at this

The amount of improvements imagined in this concept is impressive and they contribute to an overall stunning operating system that would really become a true rival to Android and iOS.

For example, the concept envisions a perspective Start that moves in the background as you tilt the device similar to iPhones, a new splash screen, extra live tiles, gestures on Start to quickly access certain features, a new Action Center, Cortana everywhere across the operating system, plus Project NEON implementation.

Out of all these features, Project NEON is the one that has the biggest chances to see daylight at some point in the future, as it’s believed to be one of the things that Microsoft is working on at the moment. Truth be told, Project NEON is all but confirmed for PCs and there’s no evidence that phones could get it, though this makes sense given Microsoft’s efforts to keep devices in sync.

Without a doubt, Microsoft should really have a look at this concept, especially if it still wants to keep Windows phones alive. If it doesn’t, then company employees should watch the video to see how everything could have been with a bit more commitment to the platform.
