LibreOffice 5.3 Beta Coming Soon, New Bug Hunting Event Take…

201

We’re getting closer and closer to the final release of the LibreOffice 5.3 open-source and cross-platform office suite, and now The Document Foundation, through Italo Vignoli, informs us about the next bug hunting session, for the LibreOffice 5.3 Beta.

Development of LibreOffice 5.3 began in early October this year, when the first bug hunting session was announced for October 21, where LibreOffice developers and hackers attempted to fix as many bugs as possible in the Alpha milestone of the upcoming office suite.

And now it looks like the Beta development snapshot should be out very soon, as the team prepares for the second bug hunting event, which will take place on the 25th of November, from 8am to 10pm UTC. As usual, binaries will be available for download for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems.

“Mentors will be available on November 25, 2016, from 8 AM UTC to 10 PM UTC. Of course, hunting bugs will be possible also on other days, as the builds of this particular Beta release (LibreOffice 5.3.0 Beta1) will be available until mid-December,” said Italo Vignoli, Co-Founder, Marketing & PR, The Document Foundation.

LibreOffice 5.3 will arrive at the end of January 2017

The final release of LibreOffice 5.3 will arrive at the end of January 2017, and it promises dozens of usability and reliability improvements, many user interface improvements, and various other enhancements across all of its components, including Writer, Draw, Impress, Calc, Base, and Math.
